What should a pole dance crash mat be like?

A pole dance crash mat should primarily have a notch so it can be slipped onto the pole. It should be made from flexible and durable polyurethane foam that doesn't bottom out or deform over time. Circular-shaped crash mates are popular, but rectangular ones are equally effective. Pole dance crash mates typically have a diameter/side length ranging from 120 cm to 160 cm and a thickness between 5 cm and 15 cm. The covers of our pole dance crash mates are made from durable and waterproof synthetic leather, chosen for its hygiene, aesthetics, and durability.

How to choose a pole dance crash mat?

The larger the protective surface, the better. Thus, if possible, it's advisable to opt for a larger size. Thickness is a personal choice, but crash mates with a thickness of 10 cm are most popular.

In dance schools, single-piece crash mates in one piece or those split into two, connecting with velcro, work best. It's preferable if the velcro is on sewn-on flaps to prevent the crash mat from sliding apart. For home pole dance training, we particularly recommend four-fold crash mates that can be transformed into a corner pouf after folding.
