Which ceiling mount to choose?

All ceiling mounts should be individually selected according to the type of ceiling/place of attachment. Depending on this, the use of other materials, screws, or bolts may be necessary. Therefore, the basis is to check what type of ceiling you are dealing with. What is it made of? Does the manufacturer recommend installing the given ceiling mount in such a material? Remember that in the case of suspended ceilings, the installation is always to the actual ceiling, i.e., the slab. Therefore, it is necessary to check what material it is made of.

Ceiling anchors can be divided into two basic types: chemical and metal. A chemical anchor is suitable for anchoring in reinforced concrete, concrete, and solid brick (for brick installation, it is necessary to specify that an appropriate chemical anchor is needed). A chemical anchor also performs better in ceilings with less cohesion, with poorer quality concrete.

Metal ceiling mounts are suitable for installation in concrete or steel (the steel surface must be at least 3 mm thick, and it should be noted that screws for metal are needed). In the case of metal ceiling mounts, the concrete must be highly cohesive.

How to install ceiling mounts?

The type of installation depends on the type of ceiling mount and the location of suspension. In the case of metal mounts, you need to make 2 holes in the ceiling with a diameter corresponding to the diameter of the anchors, then place the anchoring point in them. Tighten the ceiling mounts with a torque wrench. On the other hand, the installation of a chemical anchor requires slightly different tools, namely a drill and a dispensing gun.
